Congratulations to our Preadmission Nurse, Belinda Finn, who has just completed her Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Healthcare – made possible through a scholarship from our Nurse and Midwife Education Fund, with support from founding partner Mornington Rotary.
Belinda has been part of The Bays family for 14 years and brings more than 25 years of nursing experience across Australia and the UK. Throughout her career, she has been deeply passionate about caring for people with diabetes, from supporting patients on the wards to guiding them in community settings.
With her new qualification, Belinda can now support both patients and colleagues at The Bays—enhancing care for people living with diabetes and equipping our clinical teams with the latest knowledge. This helps ensure best-practice diabetes care is available right here in our community.
This is particularly important given that diabetes is the fastest-growing chronic condition worldwide. In Australia, around 1 in 20 people live with diabetes, and 1 in 6 women develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy.
Belinda’s achievement highlights the difference that ongoing professional development makes – for nurses, for patients, and for our whole community.
