Visiting

Visiting hours

We offer flexible visiting hours while also acknowledging the need for patients to have sufficient rest.

Some wards manage visitors with family members based on patient condition, such as our High Dependency Unit and Maternity Unit.

Patients have the right to refuse visitors, and this will be supported by our nursing staff.

Children visiting should be supervised by an adult at all times for their safety and the safety of others.

Visitors are required to follow hospital entry expectations.

Visitor requirements

Please do not attend the hospital if you have a cold, cough, fever, nausea or vomiting, diarrhoea, or have been in contact with someone with an infectious disease.

What not to bring

For infection control, please do not bring:

  • Potted plants
  • Latex (rubber) balloons
  • Cut flowers and foil (mylar) balloons are welcome.

Gift shop

Our Gift Shop is located on the ground floor, on the way to hospital wards.

You will find a range of gifts, cards, and handmade crafts, as well as some toiletries and personal items for patients.

Staffed by hospital volunteers, the shop is popular with staff and visitors. All proceeds support The Bays Hospital.
