We recently welcomed more than 100 local community members to a special Health & Wellbeing event at our new Cancer Care Centre — an initiative proudly supported by Community Bank Mt Martha.
Thanks to the generous support of Community Bank Mt Martha, guests were treated to an exclusive look at the new centre. Dr David Blakey led informative tours of the Icon radiation therapy unit, offering a glimpse into the cutting-edge technology and treatment spaces now supporting local patients on the Mornington Peninsula.
The event also featured a dedicated education session hosted in the Community Bank Mt Martha Wellness Centre, where Associate Professor Zee Wan Wong shared valuable insights into cancer, its impacts, and the latest advances in treatment. The Wellness Centre is a vital space delivering education and support programs that empower our local community.
Specialist cancer nurses from The Bays also shared their expertise, outlining the hospital’s wide range of services designed to support patients and their families throughout every stage of their cancer journey.
The event not only celebrated the opening of the new Cancer Care Centre but also highlighted the importance of community partnerships in delivering world-class healthcare.
“The new Cancer Care Centre is a game-changer for our region,” said The Bays CEO, Jade Phelan. “It means our patients can now access high-quality cancer treatment and support, close to home and their loved ones.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to Community Bank Mt Martha,” she said. “Their support ensures that our community can access vital health education and resources like this. Events like today simply wouldn’t happen without their commitment to local healthcare. Together with Community Bank Mt Martha, we’re shaping the future of cancer care on the Peninsula.”
