Ava Fletcher is proof that compassion knows no age limit.
As part of Woodleigh School’s community engagement program, the Year 9 student chose to support Cancer Care at The Bays – a decision inspired by her mum Penny, one of our incredible graduate nurses, and a personal connection to someone affected by cancer.
Motivated to make a tangible difference, Ava began handmaking high-quality headscarves for women undergoing cancer treatment. These beautiful, thoughtful creations were recently delivered in person to patients participating in our Look Good Feel Better workshop, offering both comfort and dignity at a time when it’s needed most.
This simple but powerful act of kindness is a wonderful reminder: supporting community health is something we can all be part of—at any age.
We’re so grateful to Ava, Penny, and the Woodleigh School community for helping us deliver care with heart.
