It was fantastic to welcome our volunteers from Mornington and Hastings back for 2024, at our recent get-together. The day involved connecting, training and hearing about the exciting things planned for The Bays in 2024.
Our volunteers said they are “happy little vegemites”, and shared that some of their favourite things about volunteering at The Bays include:
- feeling valued by staff, patients and visitors
- spreading good will at the hospital
- the camaraderie with staff
- the flexibility and variety of the work they do
- learning about aged care residents and their interesting lives
- engaging with people
- the satisfaction of helping to relax patients
We are so very grateful for our volunteers who are a key part of our Bays difference, and keep us so connected to our local community.
