Patients at The Bays are benefiting from new clinical equipment thanks to a combined $10,000 contribution from Mornington Rotary and Community Bank Mount Martha.
The two local organisations have each contributed $5,000, with funding supporting the purchase of a new ECG machine and a new endoscope trolley.
The new ECG machine is already making a difference to the nursing team on Briars Ward. Its smaller, more compact design and faster technology make it easier to manoeuvre and use at patients’ bedsides, helping nurses obtain vital information more quickly.
Briars Ward Nurse Unit Manager Carly Stevens said the new equipment was helping the team work more efficiently.
“It means our team can get the information we need sooner and spend less time moving equipment around the ward,” Ms Stevens said.
“That ultimately helps us provide more efficient and timely care to our patients.”
Mornington Rotary President Kaye Aitchison said the organisation was proud to support equipment that would have a direct benefit for local patients.
“Mornington Rotary is proud to support The Bays Hospital and contribute to equipment that has a direct impact on patient care,” Ms Aitchison said.
“Healthcare is something that touches everyone in our community, and it’s wonderful to know that our contribution is helping provide practical equipment that nurses can use every day.”
Community Bank Mount Martha Community Liaison Officer Gary Sanford said supporting local healthcare was an important part of the organisation’s commitment to the community.
“We’re pleased to be partnering with Mornington Rotary to support The Bays Hospital and invest in equipment that will make a real difference to staff and patients,” Mr Sanford said.
“By contributing to both the new ECG machine and endoscope trolley, we’re helping the hospital continue to provide high-quality care to our local community.”
The partnership demonstrates the important role local organisations play in helping The Bays Hospital invest in the equipment its clinical teams need to deliver high-quality care.
