For people experiencing hair loss during cancer treatment, finding a wig or headpiece that feels comfortable, natural and right for them can make a meaningful difference to confidence and wellbeing.

Three of our Wig Library volunteers, Wendy, Dee and Hilary, recently undertook specialist training with the team at CelebrityBrandz Wigs and Angel Extensions in Moorabbin, further developing their knowledge of wig selection, fitting, styling and care.

The practical training will help them provide even more personalised support to people visiting The Bays Wig Library, which offers free, private and compassionate appointments as part of the Cancer Care Centre’s Wellness Program.

Whether someone is looking for their first wig, considering different styles or simply wants advice on caring for their wig, our volunteers can help them find an option that feels comfortable and suits their individual needs.

The new knowledge they’ve gained strengthens an important part of the support we provide to people navigating the visible and emotional impacts of cancer treatment.
