We are proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone as Lyn Sullivan, one of our dedicated Food Services Assistants, marked 35 years of service on 15 March 2025.
Since joining The Bays in 1990, Lyn has been an integral part of our hospital community, bringing warmth, dedication, and a passion for patient care. Over the years, she has witnessed significant changes, from facility upgrades to the evolution of our patient services.
“Lyn’s unwavering commitment to The Bays is truly inspiring,” said CEO Jade Phelan. “Her kindness, strong work ethic, and dedication to ensuring patients feel at home have left a lasting impact. We are incredibly grateful for her service and look forward to many more years with her as part of our team.”
Lyn’s journey at The Bays has been deeply personal. She recalls the hospital’s transformation from The Bush Nursing Hospital to The Bays in 1997 and its continued growth ever since.
“My mother-in-law was one of the earliest babies born at the Bush Nursing Hospital in 1938, and my husband was born here too,” Lyn shared. “When I first started, the Maternity Unit had only one communal bathroom and a single TV for everyone to share. Now, our patients call it ‘Hotel Bays’ and enjoy a restaurant-quality à la carte menu!”
For Lyn, it’s the people—both colleagues and patients—that have made The Bays feel like home for over three decades.
“I love the team I work with and the joy of delivering meals with a smile. It’s nice for patients to see a familiar face, and I take pride in making their stay just a little more pleasant.”
We are incredibly honoured to celebrate Lyn Sullivan’s 35-year milestone and acknowledge her remarkable contribution to our culture of care, community, and excellence.
