Current appeal – The Bays 2022 Cancer Centre Tax Appeal

Can you help with a tax-deductible donation before 30 June?

The Bays would like to invite you to support the 2022 Cancer Centre Tax Appeal. All funds raised will go towards The Bays new Cancer Centre.

As a not-for-profit, The Bays understands the desire to make a meaningful difference and support our local community.

The Bays has a long-established track record for making a difference by funding key health developments and our community’s health and well-being programs. Our objective is to provide the community of the Mornington Peninsula access to comprehensive cancer care and support services. The vision is now ready to become a reality, with works to commence in May 2022.

The vital state-of-the-art multi-storey Cancer Centre will provide:

  • radiation oncology treatment
  • nine chair and 1-bed day chemotherapy unit
  • space to facilitate clinical trials and research unit
  • wellness hub
  • tranquil garden, and
  • consulting suites for Doctors providing essential services to our patients.

The centre will allow more patients to have their diagnostics, treatment, surgery and access to complementary therapies in one location, profoundly impacting the patient and their families. No one knows this better than Betty, who experienced this during her cancer journey. Click here to read Betty’s story.

In April 2019, the Minister for Health, Greg Hunt, announced federal funding to boost cancer support services delivered by The Bays Healthcare Group. The federal grant will assist in the construction of the new Cancer Centre.

However, ongoing community support is essential, with a $3.5million needed to complete the project.

Your tax-deductible donation will positively impact and transform the treatment and support available for cancer patients and their families on the Mornington Peninsula.

It is predicted that by 2032, 29,029 people from the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula communities will need to be treated for cancer or a hematological diagnosis. At present, there are no radiation oncology services and limited chemotherapy and cancer support services available in Mornington or on the Mornington Peninsula. Patients travel to Frankston and beyond for their treatment, care and support.

We need your help. Donate today!

All funds raised will go towards The Bays new Cancer Centre. Your tax-deductible donation will contribute to improved outcomes for those diagnosed with cancer and provide the Mornington Peninsula community with vital and comprehensive cancer care.

Your gift will support cancer patients and their families in our community and eliminate the burden and the expense of travel, giving back precious time to spend with family and friends.

No matter how big or small, your donation will create a positive difference and leave a legacy to be proud.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation. The impact you can make with your generosity will transform the way we can treat the community in their greatest time of need.
