Mr Alwin Tan is a urologist who is well regarded for his expertise in laparoscopic surgery. Following his Fellowship, Alwin spent twelve months fellowship in the UK under the guidance of Adrian Joyce, who internationally pioneered laparoscopic kidney surgery. He then spent time in Paris, Germany and USA gaining experience in laparoscopic prostate surgery and brachytherapy. Alwin has introduced new surgical techniques to the Mornington Peninsula including:  Laparoscopic kidney surgery 2003, Gyrus loop TURP for benign prostate 2003, Brachytherapy for prostate cancer (with Prof Jeremy Millar) 2005, Laparoscopic Prostatectomy 2005 and Green Light Laser TURP 2013. Alwin has been based on the Mornington Peninsula since 2002 and enjoys living and working in the Mornington Peninsula community.
