Dr Michael O’Ryan

Dr Michael O’Ryan is a Consultant Physician in general internal medicine.
Michael graduated MBBS with honors from Monash University in 1973 and worked at The Alfred Hospital, Repatriation Hospital and the Austin Hospital whilst he undertook training in general medicine with specialist terms in cardiology, renal medicine and renal transplantation and rheumatology – and he still has interests in these areas.
He worked in England (Birmingham and Wolverhampton) for 2 years where he did further training in general medicine – and then returned to Melbourne where he worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the Rheumatology Unit before obtaining his FRACP. He then worked in Queensland for a few years before returning to Melbourne and worked at Frankston Hospital as Director of Accident and Emergency before becoming part of the visiting staff.
In recent years Michael has concentrated on his private practice.
He sees patients regarding general medical problems and perioperative care. He has done exercise ECG (Stress Tests) for around 25 years now and performs this procedure at The Bays Hospital Mornington.
He has particular interests in obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiac failure, renal failure, fatigue, dementia, fitness and exercise.
