Dr Ben Reynauld

Gastroenterologist

Dr Ben Reynauld is a Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist with expertise in therapeutic endoscopy and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) medicine. He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, with a thoughtful and holistic approach to managing complex gastrointestinal conditions.

Ben completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science with First Class Honours and his medical degree at the University of Sydney. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2022. His training has included leading centres across Australia and the United Kingdom, including John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Monash Medical Centre, and St George Hospital.

He has advanced endoscopic expertise in ERCP, EUS, enteroscopy, and complex polyp resection. Ben has also worked across a range of specialist clinics, including dysphagia, autoimmune hepatobiliary disease, and inflammatory bowel disease, contributing to his comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Ben has a strong interest in innovation within endoscopy and is particularly focused on developing practical, effective solutions for challenging cases, including in resource-limited settings. His research has been presented at major international conferences and he has published in peer-reviewed journals, including Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, with research spanning digital cholangioscopy, novel endoscopic techniques, and emerging technologies such as haemostatic agents and endoscopic suturing systems. A dedicated educator, Ben is actively involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors, and advanced trainees.

Ben now consults and performs endoscopic procedures at The Bays Hospital in Mornington and holds a public hospital appointment at Peninsula Health. He has availability for urgent referrals and appointments, offers online booking and telehealth consultations, and is readily available for GP discussions and advice.
