Dr Arun Gupta

Dr Arun Gupta is a passionate gastroenterologist who is adept at sorting out clinical problems, from the simplest to the most complex. Arun grew up in Melbourne and attended medical school at the University of Melbourne (1998), and trained at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Arun has strong endoscopy-related expertise derived from specialty training at Westmead and Royal North Shore Hospitals in NSW, as well as at a fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK. He was awarded a higher degree by the University of Melbourne in 2015 after submitting a thesis relating to quality and safety in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. He holds an honorary position as clinical research fellow at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and holds admitting rights at Holmesglen Private Hospital and at Cabrini.

He has a broad range of interests including inflammatory bowel disease, dyspepsia, reflux, swallowing disorders including eosinophilic oesophagitis, functional gastrointestinal disorders, coeliac disease as well as general presentations such as abdominal pain or altered bowel habit for investigation. He is also happy to see liver-related presentations and welcomes referrals for gastroscopy or colonoscopy.
