Dr Amin Sharifi
Dr Amin Sharifi is a Melbourne-trained Endocrinologist and Consultant Physician. He completed his Endocrinology Advanced Training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Box Hill Hospital and Barwon Health.
Amin has experience in a broad range of endocrine disorders including diabetes (Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes), thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, calcium disorders, pituitary disorders, lipid metabolism, Obesity, Adrenal gland disorders and reproductive endocrinology.
As clinical research fellow at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Amin worked with Associate Professor David O’Neal in conducting clinical trials on advanced technology in treatment of diabetes including the first Australian clinical trial on Artificial Pancreas (Closed-Loop insulin delivery system) in adults with Type 1 diabetes.
Amin has published papers in the field of advanced technology and treatments of diabetes in peer-reviewed international journals and has presented at national and international scientific meetings. In 2016, he achieved an oral presentation at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) annual scientific meeting.
Amin holds appointments at Eastern Health, Baker Heart and the Diabetes Institute.
