Dr Elie Khoury

Dr Elie Khoury is a senior orthopaedic surgeon specialising in lower limb surgery, with extensive experience in hip and knee arthroplasty, complex revision joint surgery, sports medicine and trauma.

He completed his medical degree at Monash University and undertook orthopaedic training in Melbourne, with further specialist training in Oxford, UK. Dr Khoury has been in orthopaedic practice for over 30 years. He treats both public and private patients.

Dr Khoury has a particular interest in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, including management of failed arthroplasty and challenging joint reconstruction cases. He also manages sports-related injuries and orthopaedic trauma.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Khoury is actively involved in surgical education and governance. He mentors orthopaedic trainees, serves as a Senior Lecturer, provides independent medicolegal opinions, and is Chair of the Australian Standards Committee for Surgical Implants. He is also Team Doctor for Malvern City and contributes pro bono services to medical charities in Australia and overseas.

Dr Khoury is a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Australian Arthroplasty Society, the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, the Girdlestone Orthopaedic Society in Oxford, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

He consults on the Mornington Peninsula and in Malvern and Albury, and operates at The Bays Hospital, Cabrini Malvern, The Alfred Hospital and Albury Wodonga Private Hospital.

Dr Khoury works closely with referring GPs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely assessment, evidence-based surgical decision-making, and continuity of care. He partners with accredited hospitals and specialist anaesthetists and provides structured pre and post-operative programs to support optimal patient outcomes.
