Hip, Knee & Shoulder Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr Jason Hockings is a Victorian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialist expertise in hip, knee and shoulder surgery. He is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across both public and private settings.
His surgical interests include hip replacement via the direct anterior approach, hip arthroscopy, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, and subvastus (muscle-sparing) knee replacement. He also performs sports knee procedures such as ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair, complex and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, and shoulder procedures including arthroscopic stabilisation, rotator cuff repair and joint replacement.
Jason completed his orthopaedic training in Victoria in 2021 and has since undertaken multiple post-fellowship training programs. These include a Melbourne-based fellowship with Professor John O’Donnell in hip arthroscopy and anterior hip replacement, followed by advanced training in Edinburgh, UK, with a focus on complex joint replacement and robotic techniques. He later completed a comprehensive fellowship on the NSW Central Coast in arthroplasty, sports, shoulder and trauma surgery.
He currently holds a public appointment at Eastern Health (Box Hill Hospital and Maroondah Hospital) and St Vincent’s Hospital. Jason is also now consulting and operating at The Bays Hospital in Mornington and accepting patient referrals.
